My friend bought me an expensive birthday gift. I couldn't afford anything close to it, so I felt embarrassed. She noticed. Don't compete with what I can afford, she said. "Give me what you genuinely can." I never forgot that. Real friendship doesn't turn generosity into a competition.

The phrase “nobody is coming to save you” is ultimately a reminder of personal responsibility and self-reliance. It echoes the idea that, to a large extent, we are the architects of our own fortunes. It does not mean that nobody will ever help you. Family, friends, partners, mentors, and even strangers may come through for you. But there is a limit to how much anyone can do for you. You cannot outsource your life to other people. Look at Tony Okoye, P-Square’s elder brother. In that interview, he spoke about how he felt P-Square had abandoned the rest of the family. Whether you agree with his account or not, it illustrates an important reality: someone else’s money can never truly be your money. They can help you, but will they give you enough to make you completely self-sufficient? What happens if you fall out with them? What if you disagree and they decide to withdraw their support? Even when people genuinely want to help, there are limits. If you need 10 million naira today, how many people can realistically give you the entire amount? Most people can only contribute what they can afford. The rest is still your responsibility. It is the same reason someone might ask, “Did I send you to get married?” when you expect them to fund your wedding. At some point, when life gets difficult, people will expect you to take the lead in solving your own problems. You will eventually reach a stage in life where you get tired of constantly bothering people with your problems. Not because people don't care, but because you realise they have their own lives and limitations too. “Nobody is coming to save you” does not mean “you are alone.” It means your life cannot depend on being rescued. Accept help, ask for support, build good relationships. But save yourself first. Because ultimately, nobody can do for you what you must eventually learn to do for yourself.

You see those businesses people refer to as “little” or “small businesses”? That’s actually where the money is. Don’t underestimate them. Some of these small businesses are quietly making serious money.

I just saw a man making over ₦500,000 every week from a business most people would call “small.” He carries a BP machine to a busy market, and checks people’s blood pressure for just ₦200. According to my customer in that market, he comes every two days, while going to other markets other days. Over 400 people patronize him each time. Omo, there's money to be made in this country..!!😒

I only got to hear about his single and the new brand he launched during this whole saga. I honestly didn’t even know he had a brand. And that’s what readiness and preparedness look like. He was prepared. He was ready. The moment the opportunity came, he took it and dropped what he had been working on.

A guy called out Abass for selling a fake jersey and got a lot of applause for doing that. Within 2 days, everyone knew him And the issue dragged for up to a week. Nigerians felt for him, but there was nowhere to throw their pity. Then Mr P. came with a touching story that brought him into the limelight again. But shortly before telling that viral story, Mr. P had just dropped a single. And wore his brand cap while telling the story all along. Nigerians were touched… And threw their pity into streaming and trending his songs and buying his faz caps. This is a case study of how LUCK works. Luck = Opportunity x Preparedness. If opportunity comes and your preparedness is zero, you get zero luck. If you are prepared, but not chasing opportunities, you still get zero luck. And if you want me to advise you… I’ll say prepare yourself before scouting opportunities. . . . See You Soon. I’m The Mad Profit Guy.

This is a good example of how opportunity can disguise itself as luck. But I think there’s another factor people often overlook: POSITIONING. Mr P of Psquare didn’t just stumble into an opportunity. He already had something to promote when the opportunity came. So when public attention shifted toward him, he had a product, a song and a brand ready to receive that attention. Preparation puts you in position, but positioning determines what you can gain from the attention. Sometimes, luck is simply what preparation looks like when opportunity finally arrives. Peter Okoye had already mapped out all this, got the products ready, and when the acceptance came, he pushed his products into it.

This is why good customer service requires emotional intelligence, not just knowledge of your product. You’re dealing with people before you’re dealing with transactions. Sometimes patience, empathy, and a calm response can save a relationship that frustration would have ruined.

Five things my man genuinely benefit from being with me now: 1. Premium peace. I give him premium peace of mind. I don't go about embarrassing him. I can be stubborn sometimes, but trust me, it's the womanly sweet style of being stubborn. 2. Full support. I support my man 💯 3. Respect. There are so many things i won't do or get involved in because of my man. And there are some i take his permission first, before doing. 4. Intelligence. We've never had a boring conversation. I'm never clueless. I always have an idea and he loves it. 5. Good food.

Yesterday felt heavy and suicidal, but… Today I woke up with a quieter mind and a different kind of strength. Still here. Still trying.
There’s this senior who used to make juniors bring their mattresses outside so she could sleep under the tree in the evening. She was in SS2 and still bed-wetting every single night. Every morning her bunkmate (a junior) had to carry the wet mattress out to dry… and she still maltreated that girl. One day she called me: “Bring your mattress for me.” I walked straight to her bed, picked up the semi-wet one, and took it to her. She started screaming: “Return that one! Go and bring YOUR OWN!” I looked her dead in the eye and said,
“My parents didn’t buy a mattress for me so I could give it to an adult who still bed-wets.” Na God no just open the gate of heaven for me that day 😂 she beat me ehn😂😂😂 funny thing?? I know her house, I reported her to my mom, my mom took matters to her house and reported to her parents, that was the last time.
