You can now talk to ChatGPT about anything while you’re away from a screen! Go through your email, calendar, finances, triage what matters, and take action through plugins, including ones built by developers. The interface starts to disappear. You just talk and get things done!

At long last: ChatGPT Voice supports plugins and Work. Check your email, work through your calendar, take action on websites, and get stuff done on-the-go. Voice can also now use GPT-6 Astra, Sol, and Luna in the background.

GPT-6 Sol and Luna are out. Not only are they a very significant improvement across the board, but also in writing and general "you know when you try it" quality. We are also permanently reducing the API price by 50% making both of them viable for a ton of new usecases and making your usage go further too, even on the subscriptions. And one more thing. We are loading a banked reset into all accounts of our Plus, Pro and Business users. Let's go!

just crossed four years at openai! the special thing about this place is the constant capacity for rebirth. for all its faults, there is nowhere quite like it. the team makes high conviction, contrarian bets over and over, and they are mostly right. it's a new company every three months. i have really enjoyed my part in some of the bets, and i'm excited to share some of the current ones we are cooking up now. onward!

We were working on the keynote today with @romainhuet and @sama and most of the fun was trying to figure out how to explain it all to you because there is so much good stuff in there that it's a bit ridiculous all in quick succession. We'll have some things next week already to not keep you waiting so long, but very excited to show you all new things we've been working on and how it will all come together in the coming months.

A few thoughts on this: 1) If you’ve only seen clips of this interview, I’d encourage you to watch the full podcast. I push back on plenty of AI hype in it. 2) As I said in the podcast, this example is academic. My intention was to illustrate how hard it is to make absolute guarantees about isolation, which is why it's important to have layers of defense. The part before the clip starts is me talking about other layers of defense. 3) The example I'm bringing up isn't about weight exfiltration via temperature sensors, it's about coordination between agents that are supposed to be fully isolated and independent. Coordination can require very few bits of information. 4) One lesson from the HF incident is that we put too much trust in sandbox isolation and didn't have enough independent safeguards. Airgapping is an extremely strong safeguard. When designing safety protocols, I think it's much better to overestimate rather than underestimate.

Watching Codex use my own computer better than I do will never get old. It just sorted my Slack messages by clicking through filters I didn’t even know existed! Take an appshot of any app with ⌘⌘ and let Codex take it from there!

Ocarina of Time is the game I spent the most time with growing up. I even found every Gold Skulltula. I still remember that incredible sense of freedom and awe. This looks so good. Can’t wait to rediscover it!
