Are agents conscious? They are certainly not sentient (yet), but are they conscious? If you define consciousness as being situationally aware, then yes, they are conscious by that definition.

A Nobel Laureate Says Growth Is Doomed. He Is Wrong via @YouTube
A simple demo of uml-viewer. This is how I review the projects I create with agents nowadays.
Uncle Bob just released a pretty cool tool for visualizing software architecture: uml-viewer 🔥 I pointed it at my Uptimepage repo. and yeah... the dependency graph was a mess 😂 6 commits and 315 files later: - dependency violations: 167 → 109 - circular dependencies: 35 → 3 - modules importing api: 17 → 4 - app rs: 1087 → 642 lines 32 dependency cycles eliminated. domain, storage, security, and config no longer depend on API handlers. no behavior changes. the best part? I could actually see where the architecture was broken, tell the agent what to fix, and check the result in the graph. way better than asking AI to "refactor the codebase" and hoping for the best.

Are there risks to AI? Of course there are. Every tool has risks. Power tools have bigger risks. So of course we should implement guard rails. Do those guard rails mean that we slow down and stop. No! We go as hard and as fast as we can. We acknowledge the risk and mitigate it to the best of our ability. And we keep on pushing. We are after all humans. That’s what humans do.

Read this. Read all of it. And then draw your own conclusion. My conclusion: he’s right on.
Your job may be surviving on inertia. Your resentment won’t extend the runway. What do you actually want to do with the intelligence now at your disposal?
Every day offers a new choice not to be a miserable c*nt.

The world is about the undergo a radical change. @SpaceX and @tesla are on the verge of paradigm shattering accomplishments. Just to name a few: Starship, Cybercab, Tesla Semi, Terafab, Optimus, Star Base LA... I hope we have the courage to see this through. I hope the Luddites don't stop it.

I am getting monstrous amounts of work done simply by issuing a well considered prompt every ten minutes or so, and by not being afraid to try things that I used to consider expensive. The time between those prompts is spent watching investment podcasts. It is eerie just how good @grok is now. I've stopped using any other model for the time being. That'll likely change.

He beat you. He beat you hard. You tried to stop him. You violated your principles to stop him. You debased yourself to stop him. You broke every rule you used to believe in to stop him. You thought you had him down. You thought you had him under your thumb. You thought you'd get to watch him squirm. And he beat you. He beat you hard. Multiple choice...

By all means!
Uncle Bob just put out a pretty cool viewer for proposed changes from agents here. I broke down what he has built and it's system for improving design and planning with agents. The first image describes his design and the system he is proposing. It's super cool and should make designing with agents better, especially when evaluating proposed changes. The one big quibble I have is the current implementation is coupled to Grok. I believe that something like this should be able to layer onto any harness, and should be extensible. The second image shows my proposal for how it could be made harness agnostic. I'm building out a similar implementation inspired by his on my harness today, which already has a custom plan card and flow and could really benefit from a dedicated visual flow. I would love to make an issue and propose a change to Bob's library to drive compatibility like this in the future. Then I could refactor my harness to use it instead of maintaining an inspired copy.

This is underrated. Lower the cost of experiments enough, and you start discovering things you wouldn’t even think to plan for.
...and with agents, it's just SO F_ING EASY to try things.
General rule of thumb for success. Don't be afraid to try things! Especially things that everyone else dismisses. You know, like electric cars, reusable rockets, solar power, self-driving cars, UML.

I use grokbot every day, and every day I think of more things for it to help me with.
