Pharmaceutical companies will spend billions convincing you that you need a pill for existing while lobbying against anything that would actually keep people from getting sick in the first place.
Preventive care is the cheapest form of healthcare and somehow the one they make the hardest to access. Make it make sense.
I genuinely think the real retirement crisis is that millions of us will never get to stop working, and nobody in power cares enough to fix it.
The anxiety is not in your head. It's in your paycheck. It's in your rent. It's in your debt. Your body knows what your mind won't admit. You're not anxious. You're endangered.
Professors will assign books about late-stage capitalism then refuse to discuss why their own university is run like a corporation.
Dating apps made every conversation feel like a job interview with someone who already has three other candidates waiting.
Bankers call it “risk assessment.” The rest of us call it “we already decided you’re not rich enough.”
High food prices aren’t inflation, they’re a quiet way of telling poor people to die faster. Meanwhile the people in charge post pictures of avocado toast.
I think many adults confuse stability with fulfillment. A stable life can still leave you emotionally bankrupt.
A lawyer’s favourite phrase is “it’s complicated.” Translation: “I can stretch this for months and still get paid.”
It's so strange to me how people will ask the most vaguely-worded questions ever and then get mad when you ask "what do you mean?" I was recently trying on clothes, and my mom asked, "Are you gonna wear it in or out?" I figured she meant something like "are you gonna wear it inside or outside" but that didn't make any sense to me since I was trying on a dress shirt that I'd already said I wanted it for interviews and workdays. So I asked, "What do you mean?" She got annoyed and said she didn't know how else to say that, and my dad chimed in and clarified, "Do you want to tuck it in or not?" I feel like I wouldn't have figured that out. As a person who struggles to put their thoughts into words (especially verbally), I feel like it isn't THAT big of an ask to jst reword something. Another time, she asked, "Don't you ever just try to figure something out yourself??" in response to me asking "what do you mean" all the time. It definitely hurt to hear that and made me wonder if I'm the unreasonable one here, but then again, my mom is often on some bullshit so I'm not losing sleep over it. I'd just like to hear what this community thinks.

People can become emotionally attached to uncertainty because certainty forces them to confront what they already know. Hope can become a form of avoidance.
The person doing quiet, critical work often gets overlooked at review time, because nobody saw it. Your manager is not withholding credit, they simply cannot see what you never surfaced. A short weekly note on what you shipped is not bragging, it is record keeping.

Supply chain fragility is the feature, not the bug. It keeps costs low until it doesn’t. Then the people who optimised for cheapness act shocked that resilience costs money.
Few understand the importance of having a sick ass jacket that everyone recognizes you by
How do you guys walk up to a lady, rizz her, and get her number? 😭 I genuinely need to know.
People can become attached to potential because reality is disappointing. You keep loving who they could be because accepting who they are means letting the fantasy die.
When someone constantly tests how much you'll tolerate, they're not always unaware. Sometimes they're subconsciously measuring how much power they have over you.
