🚨I’ve just introduced a resolution to condemn socialism and the Democratic Socialists of America, whose policies seek to fundamentally change America's elections and political system. Socialism is fundamentally at odds with our values as Americans. American citizens being able to securely cast their votes at the ballot box is a right that the DSA are actively working to undermine. ​We need swift consideration of my resolution before the House, which will show the American people whether their elected officials stand for freedom or for socialism.

The X Safety team conducted an investigation into suspected Chinese inauthentic accounts involved in influence operations: We identified a bot farm of approximately 200,000 accounts. Within this farm, we found 200 accounts posting in a manner that could manipulate a legitimate debate about American AI and energy policy. These posts contained claims that AI data centers are driving up household electricity prices and straining the grid. Others included AI-generated cartoons that depicted data-center operators enriching themselves at the public's expense. We remain committed to maintaining an open and authentic platform where people debate topics of public interest. We take seriously any attempts to undermine the integrity of the global town square and suspend accounts that violate our Authenticity policy.

Aaron Terod Johnson, a U.S. citizen and former high school teacher from New Orleans, started a 33-year prison sentence following his conviction for sex trafficking a 16-year-old girl from Mississippi to Louisiana. Johnson learned the teen ran away from home in February 2024. The next day, he found and saved a screenshot of her social media page on his phone. In March 2024, Johnson contacted the girl and learned she was stranded in Mississippi. That evening, he drove from his home and picked up the victim and her friend. He told her he wouldn’t hurt her because he was a teacher and his students were her age. Then he offered her alcohol and marijuana, brought her to his apartment, and sexually abused her. His abuse continued even after she left his apartment — he repeatedly tried to contact her even though she blocked him. Within two weeks, he sexually abused her again. Evidence introduced at his trial showed Johnson attempted to pay a different girl for sex in April 2024, even after she disclosed she was only 15 years old. ICE @HSI_HQ, the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, the @USMarshalsHQ and the @ATFHQ investigated this case.
