September 18 Giga Texas update. 🏗️
• Outbound lot packed with Model YLs, Model Ys and Cybertrucks
• Large groups of Cybercabs continue testing on the track
• Cortex 2 cooling infrastructure nearing commissioning
• Cathode Plant cooling system getting major upgrades
• Optimus factory structure expanding rapidly
• Advanced Chip Fab foundation work accelerating, with vertical construction potentially coming next

18 September 2026 Giga Texas Snapshots! Busy and hot morning at the factory, with plenty of new Model YLs and Model Ys along with many @Cybertruck & some Cybercabs.
The Test Track was again busy with long groups of Cybercabs along with several Model Ys & YLs (& some Cybercabs) using the lanes with differing road surfaces.
The SE lined water retention pond is getting the central drainage channel complete with the rest of the liner has been covered with a thin layer of soil. It looks nearly ready for water.
Cortex 2’s second cooling tower with 6 fans continues to have plumbing, large pipes, & other related equipment installed, and it is nearing the point where it will be ready for testing ahead of commissioning. The nearby water reclamation plant is also showing a lot of progress on the underground pipe installation & the concrete bases for the two large water tanks is nearly ready for the tanks to be assembled.
The Cathode Plant cooling system is getting some upgrades with what appears to be new plate-type heat exchangers and related new piping installed. This is the first major upgrade to this original cooling plant in a few years.
The Optimus factory structure is rapidly approaching the N perimeter beam, now less than 5 column grid spaces to go. The S grade beam footing construction is also nearing completion while what I think is a section of the plant where Giga Presses might be installed is also getting close to being completed. I will know for sure if this is where the casting machines will go soon if the mounting frames & foundation work begins.
The Advanced Chip Fab foundation has had a large section of ground slab poured while another large area has had a mud base poured ahead of more moisture barriers and rebar before the final concrete pour begins. The S end of the foundation is still getting the final footings constructed while another large crane has arrived on site and is being assembled. This indicates vertical construction could begin soon.

Giga Texas is looking very busy as Q3 heads into its final stretch. 🚗
The outbound lot is packed with Model YLs, with a sizable number of Cybertrucks also visible. Based on the activity on site, vehicle deliveries appear to be moving at a healthy pace into quarter-end.
The Cybercab area may be even more interesting.
A fresh group of Cybercabs has appeared on the west side of the EOL facility. Production still doesn’t look like it has meaningfully ramped yet, but any clear increase from here will be worth watching closely.
Plenty to keep an eye on at Giga Texas as Q3 wraps up.

Just 2 weekends left until the end of the 3rd Quarter and the Giga Texas outbound lot is overflowing with Model YL’s (must be quite popular) and many @Cybertruck too. Anecdotally, I am hearing deliveries have been strong this quarter, so we will find out for sure in just about 2 weeks.
A new grouping of Cybercabs on the W side of the EOL facility, but not a significant number coming off the production line as far as I can tell right now. Once I see a definite tick up in production I’ll let you know.
For now, enjoy these views of the W EOL and outbound lot with all the vehicles getting ready to hit the road to their new owners!

Tesla Semi’s acceleration is seriously impressive. ⚡️
According to Top Gear:
• 0–60 mph without a trailer: 12.5 seconds
• 0–60 mph fully loaded: 24 seconds
• Typical fully loaded diesel semi: ~60 seconds
That means even while hauling a full load, the Semi can get up to speed dramatically faster than a traditional diesel truck.

The key takeaway from this chart is that if the current S-curve adoption pattern continues, the transition away from ICE vehicles in the U.S. could accelerate significantly over time. 🇺🇸
ICE vehicles still account for around 90% of new registrations today, while BEVs remain in the high-single-digit range. But technological transitions rarely happen in a straight line.
Based on this extrapolation:
• ICE share falls from 91.3% in 2025 to 83.4% in 2030
• Drops to 73.1% by 2035
• Reaches roughly 61.4% by 2040
• ICE and BEV eventually approach similar shares in the mid-2040s
• The modeled transition from 80% ICE share to 20% takes about 27 years
The important point is that this is not a forecast. It simply extends today's observed adoption curve into the future.
What makes the chart interesting is the S-curve itself. Technology adoption is rarely linear. Once EV adoption passes certain thresholds, declining costs, expanding charging infrastructure, greater model availability, and improving technology can reinforce one another and accelerate adoption.
So perhaps the bigger question isn't whether the transition to EVs will happen, but when the U.S. enters the steepest part of the S-curve.

Goldman Sachs has sharply lowered its Tesla Q3 2026 delivery forecast.
The firm now expects 435,000 deliveries, down from its previous estimate of 490,000 — an 11.2% cut.
Goldman analyst Mark Delaney cited weaker-than-expected recent sales trends in the U.S., China, and Europe.
However, Tesla continues to see stronger year-over-year demand in several Giga Shanghai export markets, including Southeast Asia, South America, and Australia, which could partially offset weakness in the major markets.
• Previous Q3 forecast: 490K
• Revised Q3 forecast: 435K
• Visible Alpha consensus: ~456K
• Tesla Q2 deliveries: 480,126
• Goldman Q4 forecast: 515K → 475K
Goldman maintained its Neutral rating and $360 price target on Tesla.
One interesting point: Goldman had forecast just 420K deliveries for Q2, while Tesla ultimately delivered 480,126 vehicles — roughly 60,000 more than expected.
Now the question is whether Goldman’s conservative 435K Q3 estimate will prove accurate, or whether Tesla will once again outperform expectations.

Tesla has released a new video showing first responders getting familiar with both the Model Y Robotaxi and Cybercab. 🚨
The video covers how emergency personnel can safely interact with the vehicles—and notably shows Cybercab being manually maneuvered using on-screen controls.
Even without a steering wheel or pedals, a purpose-built autonomous vehicle still needs a safe way for first responders to control or reposition it during emergencies.
Tesla has also prepared dedicated First Responder Interaction Plans, Emergency Response Guides, and Rescue Sheets for its Robotaxi vehicles.
It’s another small but important sign that Robotaxi is moving beyond technology demonstrations and toward becoming part of real-world transportation infrastructure.

Australia’s first 8-hour long-duration battery is now operating in Limondale, NSW. 🇦🇺
Built by RWE, the project uses 144 Tesla Megapacks with more than 400 MWh of energy storage.
• Charges at up to 100 MW
• Discharges at up to 50 MW
• Delivers power for 8+ hours at maximum output
• Stores excess renewable energy during the day
• Supplies it through the evening peak and into the night
What’s especially interesting is that it can charge roughly twice as fast as it discharges.
That allows the system to absorb large amounts of solar and other renewable energy during the day, then release it gradually over many hours after sunset.
Tesla Megapack is expanding beyond short-duration grid balancing into long-duration energy storage.
