Biggest problem is the selective reporting of results. We need to incentivize pre-registrations of studies and preprint/publish them independent of the outcome.
The team shipped a bunch of new AI features/tools this week: - Making it easier for users to test out agentic trading, with new agentic trading views in Coinbase for Agents - A new @coinbasedev x402 SDK for agentic commerce builders - Businesses can accept agentic payments now with @CoinbaseBiz Our core AI thesis: the agentic economy is going to be huge, it needs new financial rails, and we’re building them.

Something huge just landed at @ResearchHub. Introducing: Endowments. Starting today, everyone holding ResearchCoin (RSC) in their ResearchHub account will automatically earn high-yield Funding Credits, distributed daily. Funding Credits must be used to support projects on ResearchHub, turning your one-time investment into a continuous source of research funding.

It’s surreal to see a White House report describe mechanisms for fixing the systemic issues in science that ResearchHub’s been building for years. Time to keep building!
Things in an official White House science report we didn't expect to read: - 48-hour grant decisions - funding people, not projects - incentives for negative results - rethinking consensus-driven peer review We pulled some highlights 👇

1. More federal science funding should go directly to labs. 2. Science should be funded faster. 3. Scientists that convert federal funding to products (diagnostics, devices, and drugs) should be rewarded with more and faster #1# and #2#. This alone would exponentially change outcomes for our patients. Currently, this is disproportionately delegated to philanthropic foundations.

At first they ignore you… Then they agree to modernize the $200b/year the US government funds science? Great day for all of the entrepreneurial scientists out there. There’s a bright future ahead for American science 🇺🇸🫡💪

🎥 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗛𝘂𝗯-𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁. Last year, the ResearchHub community and @dmtquest raised $250k in funding for Dr. Richard Harris’ investigation of how 𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘺 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 reduces pain for those with fibromyalgia. If energy healing can reduce pain levels, HOW is this happening? Dr. Harris has three theories: 1. It's merely a placebo effect. 2. The energy healer is engaging the patient's brain in a specific way that drives pain relief. 3. It's something else, beyond our current understanding of neuroscience. The study is now underway. Using EEG brain imaging, Dr. Harris and his team at @UCIrvine are investigating whether any brain signals shared between the patient and energy healer can explain the effects. Ok, so a few months ago we proposed a systematic approach to spatial patterning of organoids, kindly funded by @ResearchHub @ResearchHubF . Today we got the first results. Pax6 green. This isn’t the full thing: it’s just activin as the fgf2 beads are delayed. Patterned right

We believe some of the biggest opportunities in science emerge when researchers, industry, government, and philanthropy work together. At #CatalystNYC#, Dr. Bridget Turaga of the National Science Foundation will share how the NSF’s Directorate for Technology, Innovation and Partnerships (TIP) is building those connections to accelerate emerging technologies. Before joining @NSF, she served on the White House National Security Council and at the U.S. State Department. Request an invitation:
