We're very pleased that in our Underwood case, the SDNY Court dismissed claims covering 99.7% of the transaction volume at issue. And because no self-respecting Tiger Dad would accept anything less, @Coinbase will continue to vigorously defend the remaining 0.03%— count on that.

The SEC deleted a full year of Gary Gensler's communications at the peak of his campaign against crypto. The FDIC tried to secretly cut off an entire lawful industry from the banking system and buried the evidence. The US government doesn't get to operate like this. Unless the American people allow them to. So @Coinbase sued, won, and exposed the details, resulting in one of the largest FOIA awards in each agency's history. More details below.

No point denying it any longer. My credit card receipts confirm what I’ve long suspected. I am in fact a DC swamp creature.
Some great nuggets in National Journal’s dive through which DC restaurants get the most campaign cash. Here’s the top Democratic and Republican restaurants, plus the regulars

When most people think of where regular Americans check government overreach, they think of the streets or maybe the ballot box. But in terms of daily impact, neither compares to the jury box.
A decade-plus years ago, the Federal Circuit held in ClearCorrect that the International Trade Commission doesn't have jurisdiction over foreign electronic transmissions of digital data into the US, no matter their infringement of US IP. I'd guess the pressure on Congress to do something about that is about to get real.

.@DavidSacks @elonmusk The Chinese models are distilling off American models… my guess is American models can’t legally do this without being sued by Chinese AI companies in American courts .. 🤔.. and distilling a Chinese model is really theft from an American company… What should American AI and IP policy be here? If distillation isn’t enforced against, then everyone should be able to distill from everyone else.. otherwise one arm tied behind American models’ backs. Maybe systems need to get better at preventing distillation techniques, and problem solves itself?

Love crypto? Pass CLARITY to promote its growth. Hate crypto? Pass CLARITY to prevent its abuses. Don’t care or feel somewhere in the middle about crypto? Pass CLARITY to show Congress can still actually do something with the power granted by the American people. It’s time.

I always knew @matthuang and @FEhrsam were smart. I didn’t know they were this smart. :) well done. @katiebiber is a true operator.
Excited to announce that @katiebiber is now the COO of Paradigm, alongside her role as CLO. Katie is a maestro on the many legal-policy matters at the frontier of tech and a force-of-nature operator. @alanapalmedo and I are lucky to have her partnership in running Paradigm!

No, seriously. In what universe is a company having to choose between violating state law and violating federal law the answer?
Federal law enforcement doesn't just casually hand out this kind of support. They do it because they know CLARITY will make Americans safer. Thank you @FLEOAORG.
After 6 years I’m leaving @Coinbase. I’ll be transitioning to an advisory role at the end of the month and continue my service on the Board of Coinbase National Trust Company. I will be a Coinbase ally for life and am grateful to @brian_armstrong, @emilemc and the Coinbase board for the opportunity of a lifetime. ⬇️

Ok @patrickjwitt, with @erling maybe we got a little too excited and a little ahead of ourselves. Not making that same mistake with legislation. But soon. :)
Hey @coinbase, when will the Clarity Act pass? 😂
As good a signal into our celebration of our nation’s independence as anything John Adams wrote to Abigail in 1776. Happy birthday America.
State gaming law are a mismatch for PMs. State gambling laws "are ill-suited to regulating prediction markets because they do not concern themselves with fostering safe, fair markets at all. They do not address price discovery, information aggregation, risk hedging, or market manipulation. Instead, state gambling laws largely seek to balance two countervailing goals: (1) restricting supposedly immoral behavior, and (2) promoting local economic development."

Yesterday we announced our SEC-registered AI Advisor. It's an interesting, novel product that required some fairly complex legal work to be able to launch. Let's discuss,
There's work yet to finish the job on Clarity, but if the markup showed us anything it's that Ds, Rs, the Admin, and industry are prepared to stay engaged to pass this bill. It's always fun to talk to my friends at @CryptoAmerica_, but especially after such a big day.

I appreciate Senator Warren calling out the courage of @preston_vanloon and others with the support of @coinbase to sue Treasury over its unlawful designation of Tornado Cash— and win. Ordinary people can do extraordinary things.
