I get depressed over the slightest comment. I worry about how others see me. I lack confidence and judge everything based on others' opinions. I think everything is my fault. I tend to completely reject myself. Being sensitive and delicate can make life tough sometimes. But you, just as you are, are a wonderful person full of compassion. It's okay. Be kinder to yourself.

At 26, I hit rock bottom mentally. The warning signs were "eating poorly," "not bathing," and "my room getting filthy." I lived off convenience store meals, lacking the energy even to shower. My room got so disgusting I fled to a hotel. The feeling of losing myself was terrifying. "I'm still okay" was already too late. Don't miss the signs your heart is breaking.

Be careful. Your heart's flashing a yellow light. "Feeling vaguely lonely," "Losing mental breathing room," "Finding it hard to trust people," "Overthinking until anxiety takes over," "Wanting to push forward but feeling stuck," "The more you rush, the more you spin your wheels," "Hearing positive words makes you sink deeper." When this happens, rest is your top priority. Fill your heart's cup. Before it truly breaks.

HSPs are kind to others but hard on themselves. They unconsciously think, "Someone like me..." They lift others up while dragging themselves down. Conversely, they're people who notice and nurture others' strengths. So why not direct some of that focus toward yourself? You possess so many unique charms—it's a shame to waste them. Let's unearth those hidden treasures.

I've developed a habit that makes me feel happy. Before bed each night, I write down "10 things I'm grateful for," "3 things I accomplished," and "a wish for tomorrow." It takes just five minutes, but it fills me with happiness and lets me sleep soundly. Finding daily blessings, praising myself, and holding onto hope. I highly recommend it, so please give it a try.

HSPs tend to dwell on the past. This is because their emotions are strongly tied to their memories, so even as time passes, they can recall events as if they happened just yesterday. They’re also kind people who take on the emotions of others. You’re truly wonderful just the way you are. But try to imagine placing a small weight on each of these: gratitude for the past, love for the present, and hope for the future.

When I'm feeling down, I keep a "list of wonderful words" as a remedy. Words of praise and encouragement. Beautiful phrases I stumble upon. When negative feelings creep in, reading them makes each one melt into my heart. Everyone gets down sometimes. So I think it's okay to draw strength from these sparkling words and bounce back.

Things you can allow yourself: "Thinking differently from others" "Crying when you're sad" "Asking for help when you're stuck" "Taking a break when you're tired" "Not forcing a smile when you don't feel like it" "Loving what you love" "Disliking people you don't get along with" "Trying something and failing" It's okay not to be perfect. Give yourself more permission. Because every version of you is wonderful.

Even if you have plans, you might suddenly not want to go on the day. This is common for people with HSP, and one of the reasons is “I want to be alone right now.” No matter how exciting the plans are, when you’re interacting with others, you have to be considerate. So, when your energy runs low, it turns into “I don’t want to see anyone.” That’s why it’s best to keep your schedule light from the beginning. Don’t push yourself too hard.

The sensitivity of HSPs is a treasure. My main job is as a career transition agent, and this trait is incredibly valuable. I sense the "feelings" behind people's words, walk alongside them, and envision their future. There were times when this sensitivity caused me pain. But now, I see it as a talent. Today, I want to remain someone who can connect with others from the heart. I am grateful for this work that allows me to feel the warmth of people.

HSPs tire easily. They pick up on even small stimuli with heightened sensitivity. When information overload hits, panic sets in. At times like these, carve out some alone time and create distance from surrounding sounds and lights. Then, try writing down how you feel. Don't think things like, "I'm no good like this." Everyone has things they struggle with. Protecting your heart properly is important.

"Because that person said this"—when I let go of those words, my life turned around. Because the arrow pointed back at me. As long as you blame others, nothing changes. What to choose and what to discard? You must always decide for yourself. Take responsibility for your actions. Then, whether you fail or succeed, it becomes experience. You are the protagonist of your life, no matter what.

I keep reliving unpleasant things from the past. Over and over. There are nights when I can't stop, no matter how hard I try. When I find myself blaming myself for that, I write it all down in my notebook and let it go at once. Then I take a deep breath and return to the "here and now." The kindness of overthinking, and the time to gently rest. Both are beautiful. They are treasures unique to your delicate self.

"I don't want to be a bother." "They wouldn't understand anyway." To you who've kept it all bottled up, unable to tell anyone. Asking for help isn't a sign of weakness. It's actually a big step toward building trust. There's someone out there who wants to hear what you have to say. Even just writing it down is a start. The courage to speak to someone will gently protect you.

"My life has changed." Words from those I've supported in changing jobs. It made me incredibly happy, and that one phrase gave me courage as an HSP. I used to blame myself for being too sensitive, but now I'm proud of it. Empathy is a talent. Sometimes, kindness that feels overwhelming can change someone's future. From now on, I want to make even better use of my temperament.

I get swayed by others' moods. Especially when they're in a bad mood or feeling down. At times like that, try creating a "mental boundary." Imagine building a transparent wall between you. Then silently repeat to yourself, "It's okay for me to be myself." Sometimes immerse yourself in nature for an emotional detox. Let the toxins in your heart dissolve away.

As an HSP, I avoid people who are "sensitive to themselves but insensitive to others." They barge right into your heart and attack you, yet get upset over the slightest thing. Conversely, having a boss or mentor who is "insensitive to themselves but sensitive to others" makes me feel I can grow comfortably. Who you associate with can drastically change your life. I want to be careful about that.

October begins today. Only three months remain this year. While 2026 had its successes and failures, I feel these past nine months have shown me where I can still grow. At 37, it's heartening to know I can still develop. May these final three months be filled with no regrets, so I can welcome 2026 with optimism. I'll keep steadily moving forward.

When people treat you poorly, you treat yourself poorly. Then everything becomes unimportant, and they begin to treat their loved ones poorly as well.Gradually, you become isolated and your heart becomes empty. That is why I want to tell you.I want to tell you to leave the environment that treats you so poorly as soon as possible. To protect yourself and your loved ones.

When faced with a major life choice, I ask myself: "Would I regret not making this choice?" If I sense even a hint of regret, I decide to go for it without hesitation. Of course, I've failed countless times. But because I made up my mind, the lessons learned were profound. I'm only 36. I will pursue everything I want to do. Because this precious life is a one-time-only journey.
