One interesting factoid about any potential merger between SpaceX and Tesla, are the change in control provisions that require the recording all of Tesla’s assets and liabilities at fair value on the consolidated financial statements, with any excess purchase price going to goodwill. The proxy will have what are called “pro forma adjustments” that in essence act like a bridge from the “oldco” historicals to the “newco”. The pro formas are valued by the largest accounting firms in the world, agreed to by the largest law firms in the world, and ultimately agreed to by both Boards before being submitted to shareholders for a vote. If this merger happens, we will know for sure which of the X accounts and YouTubers with financial models on Tesla for years were accurate.

SPACEX: According to local reports, the final stages of a deal are in place for SpaceX to build the new spaceport on Pecan Island in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana, and Governor Jeff Landry is expected to make an announcement this month. SpaceX would gain control of the land through a coastal lawsuit settlement in which ExxonMobil turns over property it has owned since the 1950s. Included in the deal are coastal restoration provisions. The sparsely populated site offers Gulf and Intracoastal Waterway access for barges, a midpoint location between Starbase and the Florida Space Coast, and natural gas supplies. Only a fraction of the over 130k acers would be used for actual launch infrastructure, with the rest as a buffer. If this is true, the project will undoubtedly create thousands of jobs. Louisiana has passed liability protections for aerospace operations, and the FAA recently proposed waiving more than a dozen environmental laws for launch licenses. The location will support orbital launches and is the perfect spot for SpaceX to launch Starmind AI Datacenters to sun-synch orbit.

Today Tesla FSD unequivocally saved me and my fiancée from a major collision or worse. Green arrow to turn left and FSD starts to go then suddenly stops, I'm thinking why did you stop I hit the accelerator pedal, it breaks again at the same time a SUV barrels through the intersection running a red light. From my view In the car I never saw the vehicle. Had I been in any other vehicle and pressed the accelerator I have no doubt I would have been T- boned in my driver side door. FSD V14.3.7 downloading now to my 2024 Model 3 Release notes look to be the same as 14.3.6 and this does not include the summer update. Any suggestions for what i should test?

Tesla FSD 14.3.5 does a great job of handling objects in the road, a homeless woman in the middle of the road right next to my Tesla, and red hands from direct sunlight. This is very short compilation of what I thought were some nice FSD maneuvers I noticed while doing Uber rides earlier this week. Regarding the homeless woman (bless her heart) near my Tesla, notice that although FSD doesn't initially move, it only hesitates for about a second and then moves forward with her still next to my front passenger window. The decision making seems to be getting faster in these situations. Regarding the red hands, this was due to direct sunlight around 6:15pm, which I haven't gotten in a long time, so may be time to wipe down the inside of the front windshield in front of the camera again. But nice how FSD took right back over within a second. I am finding that red hands are more akin to just early warnings now and not actually disengaging. Anyway, just thought these were interesting. Just for perspective, and I know it's not apples-to-apples, but David's FSD miles since tracking (which wasn't that damn long ago) is literally 15% of Tesla's entire driverless fleet in 7 cities. Again, I know not apples-to-apples since Tesla has nobody in the car, but still an incredible number showing just how much David is doing to push forward autonomy!

Tesla nearly doubled operating cash flow from H1 2025 to H1 2026 while simultaneously more than doubling its AI CAPEX investment rate. Even in this heaviest of quarters thus far (Q2), operations covered 81% of record CAPEX. Around 2.5x-4.0x The world has changed. And that change is AI. I can completely understand if folks get scared by these numbers, and decide they don't want to participate. But you should at least know that no one company is on an island here. And the fact that even with these guided numbers, we still have less than 5% of the population paying for AI services.
