After an FBI investigation with our DOJ partners, Dr. Fauci’s associate, David Morens, just pleaded guilty to conspiracy in a scheme to avoid FOIA requests and the Federal Records Act connected to COVID-19 research grants. The FBI uncovered that Morens, Co-Conspirator 1, Co-Conspirator 2, and others conspired during the COVID-19 pandemic to defraud the United States after the National Institutes of Health terminated Co-Conspirator 1’s grant. NIH terminated the grant, “Understanding the Risk of Bat Coronavirus Emergence,” based on allegations that COVID-19 emerged from the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) in Wuhan, China. Mr. Morens and his co-conspirators then agreed in writing to intentionally hide their communications from public view by corresponding through Morens’s personal Gmail account rather than his official NIH email account. 🚨 FERTILIZER UPDATE 🚨 Following @POTUS’s temporary relief from countervailing duties on Moroccan phosphate fertilizer, OCP North America’s first shipment has arrived in America — approximately 54,000 metric tons, enough to support fertilizer application across more than 1 million acres. This is immediate relief while we build the long-term solution. America imports roughly 50% of the 20 million tons of fertilizer we use each year. That is why President Trump is lowering costs NOW while reshoring fertilizer production at Trump speed. His action is expected to save farmers $1.8 BILLION annually. But America cannot remain dependent on imports for critical farm inputs. That’s why @USDA is working across the Trump Administration to cut red tape, advance permitting reform, strengthen competition, and expand American fertilizer production. We are coordinating with @ENERGY on Energy Dominance Financing, working hand-in-hand with @Interior and @SecretaryBurgum to secure critical fertilizer inputs like phosphate and potash, and partnering with DOJ through a competition MOU to protect farmers from anti-competitive practices in agricultural input markets. We are already seeing results. Through federal coordination, the Administration helped move the world’s largest ammonia plant by nameplate capacity through federal permitting review in roughly 45 days — after companies were told it could take years. And @USDA is investing $500 MILLION through the FIELDS Program to expand American fertilizer production, storage, transportation, and infrastructure. Relief today. American fertilizer production tomorrow. 🇺🇸

Today, @A1Policy announced that we have launched an investigation into PG&E’s decision to decommission the Potter Valley Hydroelectric Project — critical infrastructure that has supported California farmers, rural communities, water supplies, and energy production for more than a century. We’ve already filed 14 FOIA and California Public Records Act requests and submitted comments to FERC. The people whose farms, livelihoods, and communities depend on this Project deserve to know why PG&E decided to walk away, who influenced that decision, and whether the full consequences were ever seriously considered. We intend to find out.
