just voted privately with my shielded ZEC.
also kind of surreal realizing i just participated in the first production deployment of private information retrieval in cryptocurrency history.
PIR + zk-SNARKs + homomorphic encryption, composed so my ZEC can prove its voting power without revealing my balance, transaction history or individual vote with an intuitive UX of open wallet → vote.
ergo you don’t need registrations, moving funds, locking of your asset and you can literally keep spending your money.
so when i say zcash has one of the most formidable engineering in crypto, this is exactly what i mean. onward!

never in my life have i seen a project with as much motion and life as 2026 ZCash
they really convinced us that a financial system where extremist governments, criminals, clankers, stalkers and your ex can inspect your entire financial history was the future of finance.
we were promised flying cars and all we got is a cryptographic monetary system where you can prove conservation of value without revealing the value, prove authorization without revealing the spender, and prove a transaction is valid without revealing your financial history.

According to the ZIP process, network upgrades must be audited. @ValarGroup and Tachyon not only wrote most of the Ironwood/NU6.3 consensus changes, we're also the only ones who audited them.

@perrymetzger Sounds likely! By the way, Zcash is leading the way! Check this out: I'm not 100% sure, but I *think* this is the most sophisticated, production system with real users depending on it, to have this thorough of a proof to a complete spec.

Sean Bowe is an @Zcash co-founder, cryptographic researcher and protocol developer whose work has shaped several generations of Zcash technology.
He developed major parts of Zcash’s early cryptography and organized the Sprout and Sapling trusted setups. He also contributed to the Sapling and Orchard shielded protocols.
Sean later discovered Halo, a recursive proof technique that allowed Zcash to remove its dependence on trusted setup ceremonies — a major breakthrough for both Zcash and the wider zero-knowledge field:
