Spent time with Don Ho (@iamdonho), who runs @LightyearHQ Residency. We had a deep conversation about open source, founder velocity, and why a true residency is not a hacker house. Lightyear is built for pre-Series A startups that are already off the ground, with customers and recurring revenue. The point is not “find an idea.” It is 30 days of radical focus to pressure-test, sharpen, and scale what is already working. Some founders have doubled ARR in a month. That is what the right environment can do: compress time, raise ambition, and slingshot serious founders forward.

Driving optimized nuclear reactor design with AI Physics and Digital Twins The development of socially acceptable nuclear reactors requires that they are safe, clean, efficient, economical, and sustainable. However, validating new designs presents significant challenges including expense, time constraints, and inherent complexities of physical experiments and simulations. NVIDIA CUDA-X libraries, the PhysicsNeMo AI Physics framework, and the Omniverse libraries help developers in the nuclear industry address these challenges by delivering GPU-accelerated, AI-augmented simulation solutions for real-time digital twins. Just spent 8 days across Beijing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou meeting with the labs actually building Chinese AI. 5 major open model releases dropped during the week I was there. What I came away with isn't what the policy debate would have you expect. 🧵

Just returned from an intense but enlightening week in China, visiting the major AI labs, robotics startups and EV manufacturers. This morning I had the chance to deliver the @PyTorch Foundation CTO keynote, focused on ecosystem growth, new working groups, certification, and what it takes to make open source AI easier to build, govern, and scale (OpenMVG). Big Day 2 announcement 🚨 @HuggingFace Safetensors is joining the PyTorch Foundation as a hosted project. That is a meaningful step forward for secure model distribution and trusted AI deployment.
