After revisiting his Zhihu posts, I discovered that he is a feminist and even a veteran member of Baihehui (a website for lesbians), which is quite interesting considering he is a man. In many of his answers, he describes his favorite yuri-themed anime, his views on feminism, and the books he enjoys. Reading through his work, he strikes me as a truly sensitive and thoughtful person. It has reinforced my belief that great scientists inevitably possess a deep sense of humanism. It is that very humanistic inquiry that fuels the intense curiosity needed to pursue the ultimate truths of science.
