I feel like we should petition @Tesla on the next earnings call via an investor question to build an actual PR department again. We need to have an official voice (a real human being not just @elonmusk) that responds immediately to FUD that is made in the media. That way we can stop misleading or incorrect headlines from going out and causing damage to the company! We can also have posts and positive media attention again like we had in the old days. Actually smart summon messed up big time for me today. Ran straight into a pillar next to my parking space and scraped/dented my car. Likely will be $$$ to fix. Beware using smart summon anywhere next to pillars :( I honked the horn to save the crash record so will try to see if I have it on film. Totally forgot to take a picture at the time.. was more worried about getting out of the situation without damaging my falcon door. @JCChristopher @DillonLoomis @herbertong @thejefflutz

Took my first and second @robotaxi rides today in from Tesla Hempstead to Willowbrook Mall. Was a great experience and we fit into traffic so seamlessly that nobody really noticed us. The one annoying thing was that I couldn't use my @TIDAL login in @robotaxi. Only Spotify, YouTube music, and apple music which I don't use. Can we please get @TIDAL in the @robotaxi ?!? @JCChristopher

My theory is that Tesla is going to prioritize geofence areas with Tesla service centers nearby to start rollouts and to expand to. Dallas has the service center near Love Field and Houston has the one in Cypress. There's also service centers in a Houston (Richmond blvd) and Richmond, TX very close to sugar land which is an area that there are a lot of Tesla owners. I have a HW4 Model X that does 99.8% of my driving currently and I'm extremely impressed with FSD on a nearly daily basis. I have 2 things left that need fixing for my day to day life for me to say that FSD is "feature complete". These remain issues that cause me to apply "input" into the system that still requires me to have a steering wheel, pedals, and/or buttons. 1. Speed profiles - standard is completely broken in 14.2.2.x for me. I just got 14.2.2.3 and standard consistently drives well below the speed limit on city streets to the point of extreme frustration. I don't want to use hurry almost at all as I don't like speeding excessively but I do think the car should be trying to go about 3-5 mph over the speed limit most of the time and definitely at least speed limit. Chill and sloth can drive slow or at the speed limit but standard needs to try to drive like 85-90% of people drive in most situations. I don't want to constantly change to hurry just to keep up with traffic. 2. Residential (single family home) garage parking as a destination option and more specifically Left/Right selection for the exact garage spot. I have to always manually park my car in the garage spot that I have which is on the right because the driveway arrival option always tries to go to the left spot where my wife parks. I'd venture to say that many (most?) park their Tesla in a garage to facilitate L2 charging overnight so this destination option seems like a no brainer. Other than these two things I don't really drive much and I find it much more stress free to have my car drive me. And the Model X is the perfect vehicle for FSD since it is so comfortable on air suspension!

But if I have to put it in a nutshell, some of the information you need for driving (traffic signs, road semantics etc.) is only visible to the camera. Other sensors will not help you. So any benefit you may get in low visibility scenarios is useless. If visibility is low, you need to slow down, like a human. If your computer vision is good enough to read traffic signs, road semantics, and lanes, etc., then it will also be good enough to detect objects. Using sensor fusion (LiDAR, RADAR) to enhance object detection is just a cover for poor computer vision models. I know it very well, that's my job. The computer vision fails in some situations, although the object is clearly visible in the image space, and we use other sensors to "fix it". But then your computer vision will also fail at the other tasks where there is no possible redundancy. This is very visible in Rivian's latest "hype" videos. A pedestrian crossing in close range is missed for several frames by the computer vision, and Rivian "demonstrates" that their fusion probably tracks the pedestrian continuously, although the camera model has failed. To me, this video does not prove fusion is the answer; it just proves their computer vision is shit. The camera also fails to detect a bus. Pathetic when you think they present this video as "promotion". Then there are also many other arguments. Sensor redundancy introduces complexity. Active sensors are not in sync with the cameras (all cameras can capture their frames simultaneously, but this is not possible for active sensors which would interfere with each other), and it makes fusing this information more complex. Increase complexity, increase cost... more problems... I have written a detailed article on what is necessary to make FSD a reality if you want to know more.

If you had to choose between FSD and driving an EV what would you choose? Like have an EV without fss or an ICE car with FSD? For me that would be a super difficult question. I think FSD has gotten so good that Tesla can once again raise prices for the subscription and buy out price. I'd say $150/mo for supervised and when it gets to unsupervised soon back to $200 a month. And raise price to buy it out back to $10,000. Keep prices where they are for HW3.
